Senior Pump Service Engineer
Location: London & South East
Salary: £44,000 – £45,000 basic + overtime & paid travel
OTE: £55,000 – £60,000
Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Clemtech are recruiting for an experienced Senior Pump Service Engineer to join an established engineering business providing pump maintenance and engineering services across London and the South East.
This is a mobile role suited to an experienced engineer who is confident working independently across customer sites, carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and fault finding across a variety of commercial pumping systems.
The majority of work will be across London and the Home Counties, with occasional travel further afield.
The Role
As a Senior Pump Service Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Planned servicing and preventative maintenance of commercial pumping equipment.
- Attending reactive breakdowns and diagnosing faults.
- Mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Installation and replacement of pumps and associated equipment.
- Commissioning and testing systems following installation or repair.
- Working with associated pipework, valves, motors and controls.
- Identifying required remedial works and replacement parts.
- Managing parts and equipment carried within the company vehicle.
- Communicating directly with customers while attending sites.
- Completing work in line with company and customer health & safety procedures.
- Taking part in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
Equipment
You will work across a range of pumping and associated systems, which may include:
- Commercial heating and circulation pumps.
- Booster and pressurisation systems.
- Chilled water pumps.
- Wastewater and sewage pumps.
- Pumping stations.
- Electric motors.
- Inverters and variable speed drives.
- Control panels and PLC-controlled systems.
What We're Looking For
This position is aimed at an experienced pump engineer, so previous hands-on pump maintenance experience is important.
Ideally, you will have:
- Strong experience servicing, maintaining and repairing pumps.
- Good mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience working with commercial or industrial pumping systems.
- Confidence attending breakdowns and diagnosing problems independently.
- Experience with installations and/or commissioning.
- Knowledge of pump controls, inverters or VSDs.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to cover an out-of-hours call-out rota.
- Flexibility for occasional travel and overnight stays.
Experience with booster sets, pressurisation systems, HVAC pumps or wastewater pumping systems would be particularly relevant.

- £44,000 – £45,000 basic salary.

The current call-out rota is approximately one week in every 4–5 weeks, with the frequency expected to reduce as the engineering team grows.
This would suit an experienced Pump Engineer, Pump Service Engineer, Pump Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer with a strong background working on commercial pumping systems who is looking for a long-term position with good earning potential and further technical development.
